From design to CNC, without the gap
Most fabrication errors come from the handoff, not the machine. Closing the gap is mostly a data problem.
When design and fabrication live in different files, errors live in the handoff between them.
What helps
- Keep one source of truth, even if multiple tools read from it.
- Treat fabrication data as a first-class output of design, not an export afterthought.
- Make every machined part traceable back to a design decision.
It isn't glamorous, but it's where a lot of cost and risk quietly disappear.
